Project Overview

Design a versatile and user-friendly 360-degree home security camera that can be mounted on a wall or placed on a tabletop. The camera should provide comprehensive coverage of indoor spaces, allowing homeowners to monitor their surroundings effectively. The design should seamlessly blend with home interiors while prioritizing ease of installation, intuitive operation, and advanced security features.

Target Audience

Homeowners and small business owners seeking a high-quality and adaptable security solution to monitor their premises.

Mood Board

Soft edges, minimal forms, Monotone color and timeless design.

Ideation

Many concepts where generated to explore further into the identified touch points. I considered variety of forms and styles based on the mood board.

The key area for investigating was creating a user friendly and high in feature product which is budget friendly. The concepts where all sketched with user in mind, making sure the design is uncomplicated and self explanatory.

CAD Process

We made the design in 3D based on ideation earlier. All CAD models is made in 1:1 ratio.

Development

The CAD modelling phase was implemented with 3D printing parts to understand their scale and test them in reality.

Once the mechanism was functional, The aesthetic working prototype could be made. This prototype was to include all the functional parts of the design into an ergonomic desirable final form.
